Seafoam Green Bel Air

Seafoam Green Bel Air

In the summer of 1957, only two weeks out of high school, AJ decided he was ready for something that felt like the future. With payments AJ imagined himself driving down familiar roads in a brand-new Chevrolet Bel Air, the kind of car that made even ordinary errands feel important.

He went to Caldwell Motors with a careful plan. He knew exactly what payment plan he could afford, and he knew color was more expensive. The lot, however, did not agree with his plan. There was no Bel Air to be found.

Rather than let the day end in disappointment, Mr. Lusk took matters into his own hands. He went down the road to Red River Motors in Bossier City and returned with a solution that no one had expected: a seafoam green Chevy Bel Air, bright and fresh and new. Even better, it cost three hundred dollars less than planned, bringing the total to seventeen hundred dollars, a number that felt both serious and manageable.

AJ drove home in a car that was better than he had imagined. The green paint shimmered in the sunlight, and the whole town seemed to notice. Every mile felt like a small celebration, and every stoplight felt like a chance to admire the hood stretching out in front of him.

That summer was the start, the seafoam green Bel Air became more than just a way to get around. It became a moving symbol of moving forward in life.
